In “the story of an hour” author “Kate chopin” describes that Louise Mallard was a heart patient and it was really hard for her to tolerate the news of her husband’s death. She loved her husband often. She was having a hard time bearing the news that her husband, Brently Mallard, has passed away but after some time she was happy and hoping for a long life that she could ever live. Mallard, she represents that she is so upset for her husband by crying and going to her room silently. “When the storm of grief had spent itself she went away to her room alone.” (307). When Mrs. Mallard calmed down then she went to her room and locked the door and she didn’t even wanted someone to go after her because she wanted to be alone for a while. Mrs. Mallard represents her sadeness by staying in front of window in calm room. “There stood facing the open window.” (307). She was standing by the window, hearing the nice sounds of sparrows and looking at the sky through the small openings in the clouds for relaxing herself from that shocking moment.
