The world needs more medical students and hardworking doctors or nurses. “There are approximately 24,000 ophthalmologists throughout the world.” according to the Beckersasc website; this may seem like a gigantic number, but compared to the amount of people in the world, 24,000 people is close to nothing. Ophthalmology is, in short, the branch of medicine concerned with the treatment of disorders in the eye. It may seem like an easy job, learn disorders and fix them, but it is way more than that. It takes a professional with lots of schooling and talents such as: communication skills …show more content…

You should hold a bachelor’s degree, complete a 4-year doctor of medicine program, and participate in an ophthalmology residency within a hospital for 3 years. Leadership skills, communication, and enjoyment will help you in the path of ophthalmology as well. You should also want the job, if you do not have a motivation then you most likely will not make it. I am not trying to be harsh, it is just the truth. The average salary of an ophthalmologist per year is an exceptional 212, 610$ according to the Health Assistance Partnership website. With 200,000 dollars you could buy multiple cars and tons of other things. The payment is amazing. I would do anything for 200,000 dollars. The only problem with the job is schooling and money. It takes a ton of work to get the money for schooling, and the schooling is extremely difficult. The best career for me is clearly ophthalmology. The environment, the love for eyes, and the best part, knowing that I can help people with little to no vision perceive the world and everything around it that God created. I feel like this is God’s calling in my life. If ophthalmology is not my calling I will just keep praying and asking Him what to
