In Williams Shakespeare's Hamlet, there were many deaths. Everyone died from poisoning except Polonius and Ophelia. What drove Ophelia into madness was the death of her father who was killed by Hamlet.Losing her father and the thought of losing her brother and lover drove Ophelia to be suicidal. Therefore, Ophelia's death was a suicide.
