Hamlet interaction with Claudius was ill humor and displeased. Hamlet didn’t care for Claudius at all. Hamlet was already displeased with his uncle and matter marriage, so when his father told him how he actually died hatred grew immediately. His dead father told him not to hate his mother because he still loved her even if she did marry his brother. Polonius doesn’t like the fact that his daughter and hamlet has spent time together. Ophelia’s looks probably reminds her dad about her mother nobody really knows what happened to the mother. Polonius and Ophelia relationship was loving but controlling. That’s only the half of it. He went mad to fool everyone into thinking he went crazy about Ophelia and about the marriage of his mother and uncle/step father. He is doing this so he could start getting away with certain things. Hamlet ended up setting a play up to see if Claudius really killed his father. He’s trying to handle things in a way no one would suspect he’d know about it or know he did it. He didn’t really know for sure if the ghost was just a evil sprit to get at him. Hamlet is going to test Claudius by looking at his face expressions as the play go on. That will give Hamlet the key to go ahead and strike for his father revenge to kill
