Operation Snowball Character Analysis

Decent Essays
I feel as though I best demonstrate my character, leadership, and service by the way I interact with others. I've gained leadership and character by the clubs I am in at school. Operation Snowball has been a huge reason for the way I am today, I've gained leadership positions as a staff member in Snowball, Social Chair for Tennis, and Vice President of Junior club. These clubs have initiated the leadership role that I display to others around me. In the past three years off high school, I've grown largely as an individual and have transformed from being a timid child to a young adult who's biggest passion is to help other. The most important thing about being a person with all these skills is the impact of their actions on others and their

Text to Text The novel Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel reminds me a lot of the movie Mad Max: Fury Road. Both plots are centered around society after earth’s destruction. However, Mad Max is about what happens after the oil runs out, whereas Station Eleven follows the events after much of earth’s population is wiped out by a very contagious virus. Both books also share a similar character who play leadership roles, and these characters abuse their power.…

I participate in many school activities, although I am not out for sports I still cheer from the pep band sections at every home football and basketball game. My heart is beating quickly, my mouth is dry, and as I look at the familiar faces in front of me, their judging eyes make them seem like strangers. I struggle to get them to quiet down and we begin our hour long sectional, which I have to lead. It was the first day of my third year in marching band and at the end of last year, with the graduation of the previous section leader, I was granted his important position. Being a competitive person, I was extremely self conscience of how my section made me look. I hated being blamed for their errors and was exceedingly harsh towards them during sectionals.…

As I reflect on my leadership journey, I think that I have made slow, gradual progress, but progress nonetheless. When I was little, I tended to deliberately blend into the background and have others do things for me. Then, as I got older, took on new responsibilities, and developed my passions and interests, I started to also develop my leadership skills. Today, I am still a quiet, timid person, but I am working on stepping out of my comfort zone. Ever since I was little, I have always been a sort of wall flower.…

Through my very goal oriented demeanor and determination to accomplish necessary tasks for personal and group success I strive to exemplify leadership. Presently, numbers of people embrace the idea of leading by verbal motivation instead of leading by illustration, but what they’re actually encouraging is a lethargic disposition among people. They focus too much on saying and not doing. In my life, for example, I rather be a superb student and lead through example, rather than telling people to become superior students when my own commitment towards my education could be faulty. I would rather follow my principles taught to me as a child and show my belief in the importance of having suitable morals, instead of giving an array of hypocritical…

Casting is a vital part of creating a movie and the director must be involved in the process to bring his or her vision to life. In the case of some movies any actor who fits a general type will be able to fulfill a director’s vision, but in other cases there is only one actor who will work in the role. Both of these situations are reflected in the casting of the protagonists in The Drop and Spy. The movie Spy without the casting of Melissa McCarthy would have lost the impact of the majority of its jokes. McCarthy’s performance as Susan Cooper could not have been replicated by any other actresses.…

Development of character is what makes us who we are. My spot in leadership deals with positions when I need to be decisive, setting the example and regulating standards. The most recent leadership placement I have held deals with an officer position at my school. As a 2nd Lieutenant, Platoon Commander, I make sure that my fellow peers under me are in the standards of the school(neat uniform, shaved, no foul language etc.). As a leader, I am the example people would look up to and follow, that is why being a leader is very critical.…

My Personal Leadership Philosophy and How it has Developed As a leader I am very unique. I hold strong personal values in the areas of trust, respect, and responsibility. I believe that no one person should be responsible for someone else, but that we have to grow up and learn to take care of ourselves. Prior to this course, I perceived leaders as people who told a group of people what to do in order to accomplish a task. When I was put in a leadership position I was always effective, but I never really took the thoughts or feelings of others into consideration.…

While researching Non violent communication I found a pdf that really helped. It is located here, it gave some examples of statements to use and clearly outlined the four step process. As I have said previously I am not a leader at this time, but I have been and hopefully I will have the opportunity to be so again in the future. However, the SCARF model and the NVC (non-violent communication) principals can be applied to many areas of life. Reflecting on my communication as both a leader and in normal life, I can see that I have not been as empathetic as I should, nor have used either of these models very much.…

“You have two minutes to talk about yourself”, said the Professor I started by telling my classmates about myself, the things that I have done in the past, my academics, and that I was the monitor of the class since my childhood and the captain of the group in the school. I told them why I should be elected as the In-charge Class Representative of the class and eventually won the elections with a majority. That was the first time I understood that I had the capability to influence others. There was no stopping to me, I never looked back after that. I took every opportunity that came in my way to make myself a better leader, a better individual for that matter.…

After receiving feedback from the people who have observed me in a leadership position, it is clear to me my best-self portrait is a leader who leads by example, takes initiative and is very reliable. A large majority of my friend’s and family’s responses centered around the idea that my hard work ethnic inspires them to follow my lead and try to meet the goals that I set out for the group. Many of my respondents highlighted these attributes through the extensive campus improvement projects I did as Junior Class President, my revival of the once dormant Inter-Fraternity Council (IFC) and the…
