Operation Smoking Dragon is an FBI investigation that came to an end after Yi Qing Chen was convicted in 2001 of distributing methamphetamine, trafficking approximately 800,000 cases of counterfeit cigarettes, and conspiring to import fired missiles into the United States (Siegel, P. 409). The investigation uncovered the international smuggling ring. International smuggling ring is the illegal importing and exporting of prohibited goods from one country to another. The smugglers were bringing in phony drugs and other contraband along with counterfeit $100 bills. The Smoking Dragon operation lasted for 8 years.
