Operation Desert Shield.
August 7, 1990, this is the day that President George H. Bush ordered Operation Desert Shield. This Operation ordered American troops to join in an international coaltition in the war against Iraq in an Operation called Desert Storm in January of 1991. To support Operation Desert Shield Bush Authorized a dramatic increase in resources in the Persian Gulf region. This is the Operation that implemented the U.S. forces into the Presian Gulf War.
