Operant Conditioning is when the specific type of learning is being controlled by a form of behavior. The way this is achieved is through positive and negative reinforcements. Conditioning through positive punishment would be when you are to add something to enhance the behavior in a negative direction. For example ,if a child kept yelling at his mother in a grocery store for candy and she gives it to him she is increasing his behavior in a negative way. Now the child know that if he acts like that again he gets what he wants so he will continue to do it. With Negative reinforcement you are making the behavior better by avoiding the negative outcome of a situation. for example, if you were to buckle up your seat belt before driving then you don’t have to see that annoying seat belt icon or hear the beeping associated …show more content…
The principles that each of these conditioning principles bring are positive to have in our lives because they don’t usually cause us any harm. We get positive outcomes when we condition ourselves to stay away from Junk food or to make sure we work out everyday. The negative outcomes are not as much which is increasing a child 's bad behavior or cheating once in your life and continuing to it later on in life. They are principles that we should continue to have in our lives because they make us who were are
