First of all, I noticed a conductor giving instructions to the cast to perform appropriately in which case I never thought this was going to be implemented. Also, there was a Pianist near the stage giving a nice melody to the opera that gave it a nice texture of homophonic.

Meanwhile in the village, three women were laughing on the fact that Corie is going to marry Johnny.
Despite the sorrow happening, the villagers were singing about their love for whiskey which had a nice melody. Later, they started singing for the wedding. However, the man came back to the village and is caught kissing Corie.
After witnessing this, Johnny bursts in rage and attempts to stab the man with the cake’s knife only to find himself stabbing Corie. While bleeding out, everyone on stage was singing in sorrow with a polyphonic texture as she passed out.
Overall, I found this opera theatre most interesting as the colors on stage would turn all black for darkness or all red for fear. Also, I appreciated the clothing they were wearing as it represented the pre-industrial period which blended with the settings. Oddly, it was shorter than the rest of the other concerts that I have attended. Personally, I would definitely attend another opera theatre because of its nice melody and story telling which is unfolding in front of the audience. In conclusion, this was my most favorite concert I have attended to here at Sacramento State
