Open School Uniforms

Imagine being a student who is walking down the hall getting many different looks from those around you. They are all staring at your clothes and judging what you are wearing. This should not be how students are being viewed at school. They should be viewed as equals and with the use of uniforms, students will be able to have that chance of being equal. Uniforms are better than having an open school dress code because they can help students to get ready faster in the mornings, they can help students to stay focused on their education, and they can also lessen the competition between students and their clothing.
To begin, school uniforms make getting ready for school easier. “It’s so much easier to dress than having to search for clothes and find out that something doesn’t match” (Daily Herald). When a student has to constantly change clothes and try to find an outfit that is both matching and coordinating with the dress code, they can take up too much time getting ready which could ultimately make them late for school. For example, students could opt to wear accessories that they could express themselves through. Even though a student’s clothing choice is limited, there is a variety of ways that they could still express themselves through.
In summation, school uniforms are better that having an open dress code because uniforms make getting ready for school easier, they help students focus on their education, and they also create a level playing field between students. Uniforms are not only going to benefit students while they are at school, but they will also prepare them in the long run when they are in the work place; something that having a dress code can not
