Never just focus on your academics. Also have a strong interest in what goes on around your campus grounds. Get involved in as much as you can. Getting involved around campus will help with meeting new people, receiving a new interest, connecting with the college on another level, and discovering a new career path. The information that you need is mostly on flyers and signs, so focus on those to know what occasions are coming up. A lot of colleges have daily papers you can read. They give information as well. There is a lot more that can help guide your way. Just keep your eyes open. Its very important to step out of your comfort zone and get involved because this skill will help you later on to be successful in many areas in your career, so try it.
Lastly, you should always know what resources are being handed to you. If you don't, find them out as soon as you can and use them. Resources such as, counselors, professors, books, websites, and etc. can help you in various and effective ways. Some on campus resources that you need to actually consider taking advantage of are: organizations, academic advising, sports, student union, and of course my favorite other students and professors.
