Open faced reels statistically have the best customer reviews because their ease to maintain proper lubricant and wax. Open faced reels have their line exposed and commonly have only one screw containing the spool housing, which makes it much easier to change worn gears. These reels have a stronger internal design with either heavier aluminum or steel gears, which make it stronger and more durable then a closed face. But in contrast it has a more complicated operation. To cast using this reel, one must lift the casting latch while holding the line with a finger to the rod. This makes maintaining the reel very easy. Bait casters have a very rugged design using a steel bolt in the middle of the reel, with a hole to tie one’s line to the bolt so the line will crank properly. This reel is designed for heavy workloads on fish that can push three hundred pounds plus. This reel how ever has a major problem with “bird nesting” and accuracy until one is comfortable with it, which often takes months of practice. Casting is simple but it is crucial to be careful to hold pressure on the reel through the cast to prevent that major setback. But once one has the concept using this reel can become very rewarding with unmatched control in casting

Most likely a fish will hit any lure that is tossed in the water, but in my opinion fish will mostly hit a squarebill crankbait. When I fish using a jig a don't really catch anything, and if i do catch anything then it will have to be the “perfect cast” because you would have to do it at the right time, right season, right weather, and you gotta have the right trailer on it too. When I fish using a sanko I can cast anytime, anywhere, and any season. A sanko can be fished all year long. I like fishing a senko as wacky rig, texas rig,and many…
