IMPETUS: the force by which a body moves. A single flickering street lamp illuminated the abandoned streets below. Ash danced on the wind, interrupted by the charred, black skeletons of what had once been sturdy foundations to village houses, coating the parts of the street where there was still gasoline with burnt memories. It settled on the occasional corpse, mimicking skin where the muscle had been touched by fire, drawing halos of gray chalk around the shattered skulls of innocents that had died escaping before the flames could claim them.…

As some of you know, I will undergo open heart surgery on February 15, 2016. During this surgery, the doctors will try to repair all of my congenital heart defects. This should prevent me from having a heart transplant in the near future, as well as avoid other serious health related issues I have faced in the last few months. The surgery is supposed to start early in the morning, around 8 am, EST, and if things go well I should be out of the operating room by the afternoon. Contrary to the opinions of my previous cardiologist and surgeon, who were very pessimist with regard to my diagnosis and prognosis, the current doctors actually believe I may have a chance.…

Blood. Blood is everywhere from underneath the rocks, splattered on people and the surrounding walls. The building collapsed, squishing the soft frail bodies of the people inside and outside the building, leaving others running in a panic.
