INTRODUCTION:
The U.S. mobile phone industry is one of the largest sectors of the U.S economy. Ontela is the startup company making their first offering i.e. Ontela PicDeck. PicDeck was a technology service that transfers pictures from mobile device to computers, email inbox and other networking devices and services. The technology allowed for the transfer of pictures to any pre-designated destination without the need to press extra button. This technology was expected to increase sales of high data margin services for Ontela’s wireless carriers, its direct customers.

The reasons for the same are as follows:
1. Steve recently thought of going with the new technology so that he doesn’t lose a step in the market. As Ontela is going to provide the new services of transferring photos to computers , email inbox, etc. , Steve will use this service to send pictures directly to the customer in simple and convenient way. He will also need to renew his wireless handset and use data services with good margins which in turn help Ontel’s direct customers in expanding

The other reason is that the service offered by PicDeck’s is simple and convenient which satisfied the needs of target segment represented by Steve . In addition to that, this target segment can afford these kinds of services as they are young professionals.
This segment wants to stay up to date in their professional field by using new technologies which is great motivator to them. So to target a segment which still want to know about new technologies and have the ability to afford and upgrade will help both Ontela and their direct customers to expand.

MESSAGE TO TARGET SEGMENT:
Target segment doesn’t know about new technologies in the market. They also want to use simple and convenient ways to perform the daily features. So Ontela should be able to convey the message regarding the conveniences of their services and how this service is going to bridge the gap between phone and PC. People of this segment should be aware of the fact that it automatically send pictures to its respective destinations. They should also be convinced that the service will also help them in professional work.
KEY THEMES:
NEW – People like new technologies and new gadgets.
