Since becoming an online student, it has been a testament of will power to every aspect of my life. Every day, I battle to adjust my daily work schedule, my personal life, and my school work. I fill in as a Physicians' Aid at Holy Cross Hospital. Monday through Friday, I leave my house around 6:00 a.m. for the 1 1/2 drive to make it to work on time. I am a multi-tasker in my occupation. I help medical attendants and specialists in admissions of their patients, taking patient’s weight and health vitals. I analyze patient’s health records to ensure accuracy. The vast majority of my job is concentrated on supervising obligations. Sometime I feel as if I should check myself into the mental hospital with so many responsibilities. In Josh Sundquist’s book Just Don't Fall he covers many aspects of the average human and the way we go about things. One aspect that I like is he really strives to show the drive, and the urge to never give up no matter what circumstances you are presented with. After reading this book I really decided to rethink many aspects of my own life and questioned how determined am I to actually do stuff. One way I plan to apply this to my own life is by putting all my effort into something if i'm going to even bother with it in the first place. Jacie, I understand that you need help with finding ways to use technology to help the students that you work with. In my last class, EDCI 516 Reading in Content, we discussed and researched sources and websites that teachers can use as a tool to help improve, practice, and review site words, spelling words, reading comprehension, and mathematical skills with their students. I, myself, was not very familiar with technology and the utilization of it in a grade school classroom. After taking EDCI 516 and practicing using the Google search engine to locate web-based resources that I can use to work with elementary students, I now feel more comfortable using technology in a classroom setting.…

The group I am currently considering is StuMo, which stands for Student Mobilization. Some of the reasons why I am interested in StuMo are that I am looking to grow spiritually, meet new people, develop leadership skills, and strengthen my character, while also having something to occupy my time here at the University. It is an interdenominational student group, whose mission statement is to raise up laborers for Christ from college campuses and mold these laborers to future leaders. StuMo is open to people of all religious affiliations and ethnic backgrounds. One of their goals is support and help students in any way along their spiritual development.…

My professional goal is to obtain a Walden’s Master of Social Work degree with a specialization in crisis and trauma intervention. I would especially like to work with individuals affected by crisis, trauma, and grief, and help them overcome their personal and social problems that have, without a doubt, strong negative influences on their lives. Studying at Walden University is important to me, because this school will give me the knowledge and skills that I need to help people make the most of their own abilities, develop skills, and empower them to reach their goals. In the future, after gaining more knowledge and experience about mental health, I want to create mental health service agencies across the United States that will help the…

I started attending Lone star college right after high school, at first, I began with the typical high school graduate state of mind, which was that college was going to be a breeze and that it would all be fun and games; more worried about what was going on in my social life rather than studying the books. Especially since I had no real responsibilities to handle or much life experience. Around my first year of college, I started dating this girl and not long after we conceived our first son. Once this happened, my focus slowly shifted from school to working a full-time job at a welding shop in order to provide for my family. I still tried to attend class but was unable to find the balance between work, school and family and this reflected my grades.…
