How Does Technology Affect Socialization

Today in classrooms, several phones lay out, many computers are open and only a few quiet conversations are going on but too many people are distracted by technology to work on homework or for some to even talk to the person next to them. Within society it is becoming common to do online schooling and against social norm to not own some kind of smart phone. “Not only does our society lay the broad framework for our behavior, but it also influences the ways we think and feel” (p. 146). Technology is constantly changing the socialization process from writing and sending letters to reading an enclyopedia to now sending a text to looking up anything thing we might not know all in a matter of seconds off of a satellite. Along with the improvement of the internet, online and distant schooling is becoming more available to high school, college, and adults that wish to take it while at home and somehow we have to compensate for the amount of data being used up, and the government is even using the advancing technology for their advantage by monitoring and trying to control citizens and having more access to files around the world.
