Online School

Online school seems to be the most popular topic being discussed currently. Many people believe that online schooling is not the best way to go for students. Although there are pros and cons to online schooling, online school is a success route for students. It not only draws at risk students or dropouts back to school, it allows students to work and their own pace and helps them stay on track.

Online school provides credit recovery for at risk students, which is a program that allows students to catch up on credits they have previously lost. Online school also provides a flexibility that traditional classrooms do not. Having the flexibility around the students schedule will encourage them to get back on track because the courses will not feel like a burden or that they are in the way of what their daily schedule holds. The current dropout rate is 1.2 million kids per year and having the flexibility of online school will draw dropouts back to school and encourage them to finish.

A student seeing their progress daily will help them understand how much work needs to be done in a certain time period which will keep them on task with the work they are supposed to be doing. People that complain that students will have to be watched while on computers are failing to realize that regardless if a student is in a traditional classroom or doing online school they must be monitored so having to supervise students is not an extra task as teacher.

All in all, pros out weigh the cons of online schooling. From flexibility to staying on task online school fills in all the gaps. Online school is a fast progressing program that will eventually dominate traditional classrooms. Despite the slight amounts of cons, online school is a success route for many

In two thousand twelve, six point seven million students were taking at least one online course. Such courses allow students to listen to fine professors without having to pay for comfy dorms of college administrators. They will not replace traditional colleges—face-to-face classes are still valuable—but they will force them to familiarize. Those that offer sorry value for cash will have to shape up, or go. All and all going to college would be great investment for…

Online education is one of the newer modern advancements of society, as it takes home-schooling to another level. This type of schooling can be more adaptable, or as perspective one puts it, “for students who struggle in more traditional settings.” This is very true for children who have mental and physical disabilities, for example, it is easier for a child in a wheel-chair to finish his/her schoolwork without having to worry about the crowded hallways, no ramps to safely use, or navigating in tiny classrooms. Online education also provides a way for students who become uncomfortable in crowded or loud places to learn comfortably. An online school is also convenient for students who live in bad neighborhoods or would have to attend underfunded schools.…

Most students that attend school may not have access to a technology to use or may not have online or internet to join the online program. For example, a student that has to take online classes may not be able to use technology that is needed or could possibly not have internet at home. With that student not having access to online, that could cause the student fail the classes that he or she had to take because of them not having access to a technology or to the internet. This could also cause a student to fall on the standards of what they was learning at school. This is one of my reasons why i say the state department of education should not provide funding for an experimental online school.…

Online College Success Online college has made it possible for many adults to earn a college degree. These are often people who did not, or could not, attend college when they were younger. The convenience of being able to work on their assignments when it fits their schedule has given many who had given up on college a second chance. However, according to Roper (2007), these college students “may face significant challenges in developing a new set of skills for this type of instruction” (p. 62). I am one of these students.…

Everyone learns in different ways. In order to succeed in an online learning environment, you need to step away from previous learning habits. You need to think outside of the box as far as school is concerned, and actively seek out the resources you may need. This is on-par with what I had expected of online learning. I have always been more open-minded when it comes to learning, so my views on the subject have not really changed.…
