About to end my sophomore year terrified, still in the process of figuring out what my declared major was going to be. Everyone says that you have so much time to figure out what you want to do in life or what you want to be when you grow up, but I continued to feel as if my time was just about over. I didn’t want to continue taking class not knowing if they are even going to be needed for my major. I was on a mission to figure out what the best path for me was and to do it quick. I was ready to be done switching different majors every other semester hoping the next one was going to be exactly what I wanted. Knowing I was in need of some guidance, I decided to set up a meeting with my adviser for some tips on what I could do to hurry along the process of figuring out what a good fit for me is. …show more content…
He provided me with multiple resources and different online tools that would help myself to figure out which path or direction to take regarding my career choice. There were two main resources that my advisor encouraged me to partake in. The first being the focus 2 assessment, which when he began introducing the online personalized assessment all I could think back to was when I went to Hope College and they made us take something similar and it was a three-hour process and the careers that it proceeded to lead me to obviously didn’t work out. So, my first thoughts of this focus 2 were negatively, but the more he told me about it and the fact the he recommended it heavily got me to pondered what other choices do I really have left.
