Our mission as effective leaders is not only finding ways to balance school, work, family and social life, it also requires a constant support and connection with our community and environment. Online education is the best thing it happened to me because it allowed me to be that military wife, the employee and the leader I want to be, but also allowed me the opportunity to be able to manage my personal life and finance at my convenience, providing me with physical, mental health and allowing me cut some expenses. The future of our people, community, and the planet depends on their leaders and their decisions. Growing up, leadership has always played a huge role in my life. It has helped me grow as a person and allowed me to learn new skills. In middle school, I enjoyed working with my peers to organize events and help others. For example, as a member of my school’s choir, I took the opportunity to help organize concerts, design brochures and make posters to inform the school community about upcoming concerts and events. In addition, I took part in the fundraiser to help raise money for our music department at Carson.…

Being a leader can on occasion be difficile. Sometimes, you have to do things you do not wish to do, and other times, you have to really be able to coordinate events and be held culpable for what accompanies them. A leader, at no time, should be unreliable and should always be collaborative. I admit I have had what it takes to be a leader based on what I have accomplished this year. Being involved in AVID for four years now, I have continuously admired it.…

INTRODUCTION The University of Oklahoma (OU) prides itself in being a diverse campus with endless opportunities. These opportunities are beneficial to all students, but not so easily achieved by a handful of students. The Native American community at The University of Oklahoma is a growing community to all involved, but is also one of the smallest communities within the campus in Norman, Oklahoma. Due to the lack of communication within this group of the Native American community here at OU, most Native American students on campus are not yet established and are not benefiting from the opportunities available to them through the university.…

Well it takes a well-grounded on-line school, with committed faculty and staff to guide and champion a student to their ultimate goal, graduation. On line education has given me a reason to believe that all things are possible and…

In two thousand twelve, six point seven million students were taking at least one online course. Such courses allow students to listen to fine professors without having to pay for comfy dorms of college administrators. They will not replace traditional colleges—face-to-face classes are still valuable—but they will force them to familiarize. Those that offer sorry value for cash will have to shape up, or go. All and all going to college would be great investment for…

My leadership with the Honors Club has consisted of organizing and leading the club meetings, giving information about different activities, responding emails and text messages, and coordinating and volunteering with PACC. Somehow I always get the feeling that I could do more. I was excited about my leadership position before the semester started because I thought I was going to have a lot of time to get involved in all the honors activities. I found this to be very far from reality once the semester started, since I am taking 14 credits, working part time, and volunteering.…

If I use tennis as an example, several athletes that I have come across have decided to continue their education online so they are able to travel to compete in tournaments. This allows them to spend more time for training and improvement. This is something that I personally would not enjoy, as tennis is a very individual sport. When one learns online or stops their education completely, they can become isolated and simple tasks such as communication and meet new people becomes difficult.…

Being an AFJROTC cadet leader is challenging. As Wing Commander of our 250 member Cadet Wing, I had to address an ethical dilemma; leaders dating subordinates; that almost destroyed our drill team. In the US Military, unprofessional relationships are frowned upon as they adversely affect the chain of command due to favoritism. In our unit, unprofessional relationships are discouraged for the same reason. When cadets perceive a promotion given to someone based, not on merit, but on their relationship with the leader, the units’ morale suffers.…

I was born and raised in a Christian environment and as a believer in God. I was homeschooled my whole life up until freshman year of high school where I moved on to attend a private Christian academy. Being homeschooled helped prepare me to assert my faith for the “real world” where it would be assessed. Though at times being homeschooled was the most difficult part of my life- being someone who loves meeting new people- it was a felicitous decision which allowed me to grow divergently from others and I am forever grateful for the sagacious mentality I acquired in those years.…

Leadership is a class I’ve always been interested in being a part of. Growing up, I was always taught to be a leader. My parents have always told me “You don’t choose to be a leader, you slowly evolve into a leader.” It’s always stuck with me and I’ve learned that I must set goals and go through struggles in life in order to learn from them. Those small things have allowed me to transform into the person that I am today.…
