Created by some of the people responsible for Tinder, Bumble is an app that seeks to give the power of choice to its female users. Although it retains Tinder's matchmaking system in which you swipe right or left to signify whom you want to meet, the messaging system is completely revamped. Users must speak to each other within 24 hours of matching with each other, or the match is canceled. Additionally, the woman must send the first message.

However, unlike Bumble, it does not achieve this goal by making its tools exclusive to female users instead, it grants its users a form of social proof by only suggesting matches that are connected to the user through mutual Facebook friends. Although this system means that users have a smaller pool of potential dates, many people find that the potential dates are of a higher quality than with other apps. Like Bumble, Hinge also institutes a timed match policy that forces users to interact before the match is canceled.
Despite the popularity of online dating, a lot of people still have a hard time finding success with dating apps. Apps such as Bumble, Happn, and Hinge may help to fix many problems that prevent people from meeting online.
