Online dating has been one of the easiest ways to let people know that you are single and ready to mingle. While you can provide someone with a lot of your private life information on a profile, like one Match.com uses, you can either be truthful or make up some things about yourself that would seem more appealing. With more and more predators and rapists taking to the internet to find the people they are looking for, it is only a matter of time until someone I know, or my own family is targeted by these evil people. Not only do I fear for the next generation, I also fear for those less faithful in their relationships. Certain sites that cater to cheating spouses is a dangerous playing field, bad people do not discriminate when trying to find people to harm, and someone in a delicate position trying to cover their tracks could become an easy target for sex trafficking and other vile …show more content…
However, it is always important that we make sure the public is educated in these scams, and try to protect those who do not understand the internet world as well those versed in the computer might. As the internet become a more integrated part of daily life, I hope my children especially my daughters, understand the dangers of internet dating, and stay faithful to their husbands, even though various options will always be available to them. I do think that young people are doing the necessary research, and taking into account all the issues and threats that the internet brings. Maybe in the next ten or twenty years we will see a dramatic decrease in all the issues we see today, especially since online dating is such a common
