Last year, I was an average single mother, struggling to raise my sweet little girl, Robin. After my husband Jerry passed, my day job kept us out of poverty, but we never had a lot. Trying to get passed this difficult period in my life, I turned to online dating. I was soon matched with a man named David, whose profile said he was only 3 years older than me, and loved growing succulents and stargazing. We decided to meet up at a local coffee shop a few days later when Robin was staying at a friend’s house. It didn’t take long for me to realize something was off.
