Another bad thing about online dating is the danger that can come from it. One danger is not knowing if the person daters are talking to is who he, or she, say they are. For example, say that a person is talking to what seems like the perfect significant other, when they decided to meet, the other party turns out to be a murder, who has found their next victim. People cannot always trust a person online, since it’s so easy to construct a trusting and innocent image that can lead them to their death; by seeming like the perfect partner, rapists and murders have their pickings of victims just from online dating websites. Another danger in online dating is that personal information is online for many people to see. My neighbor, let’s call her …show more content…
In recent years, there have been a lot of people joining these websites in search of sexual relations instead of an actual relationship. In these cases, the two participants will chat online for awhile, one with only sex in mind, before meeting up. They may or may not go on date before one of them begins making sexual advances; and once they finally have intercorse, the one who only wanted sex will be done with them to find a different partner. Still, that’s better then never being able to meet the person in real life or never being able to communicate over video chat. A year ago, my Aunt meet a guy online that she had talked to almost every day. He seemed to accept everything about her and treated her with kindness, but he never called her or visited her in the six months that they were dating. She was starting to worry so she asked him to meet up with her. He was very hesitant, but agreed to meet at her favorite diner. When she arrived she was excited to finally meet the person whom she fell in love with; she waited for five hours, but he never showed up. After that he tried to message her, making up an excuse on why he wasn’t there and she just told him that they were done. She didn’t want a relationship where she could never meet the one she loved. Another thing that can happen is that the communication between the two people can abruptly stop without any warning. …show more content…
Online dating can lead to some very sad memories making it a bad experience for most people. This form of dating is inefficient and has many other issues in it desired plan, but if we fix the problems it does have we cold make online dating safer and more
