One Tree Hill Summary

Season 1, Episode 1 After watching the first episode of One Tree Hill we have noticed that there is much segregation between Nathan’s crowd and Lucas’s group. We have determined that Nathan is a jerk and does not deserve Peyton, this is because all he wants is girls (and it doesn’t even have to be Peyton), he does not respect her well being. We have realized that Lucas is very interested in Peyton and it seems that he would take very good care of her, plus they have the same interests. In the beginning of the show Lucas was playing in the park court with his four other friends and Nathan was leading the Raven Basketball Team to a victory scoring the majority of the points in the Whitey Duram. It is obvious that Nathan is the star of the team, …show more content…
After this decision, the team quickly starts to go downhill without its star player. Coach Durem decides to put Nathan back in the game and the team again takes the lead and goes on to win the game. After the game, the team and cheerleaders celebrate by stealing a school bus and driving around while under the influence of illegal alcohol. Nathan is driving the bus and seems to be the instigator of the project. We then see Peyton driving in her car while listening to rock music. She is assumed to be heading home to meet up with Nathan for the night. Nathan is shown and a girl notices Peyton is not there so she starts to kiss Nathan while he is driving the bus full of students. He does not seem to stop the unfaithfulness and continues to cheat on his girlfriend who is just on the other side of the upcoming train on the tracks. On the other side of the railroad, Peyton is looking through the back of her car looking for new rock CDs. She doesn’t realize that a boy, Lucas, is dribbling his basketball through the street not looking either. Simultaneously, Nathan and the train almost collide but he hits the breaks as fast as he can. On the other side Peyton and Lucas are in a near crash. When they make eye contact there was a glimmer in their eyes, like they

I personally think the show “The Beverly Hillbillies” are in a way exploiting white stereotypes. They are showcasing a family from the country moving into a lavish educated society. The show plays on the perception of white trash society, such as rednecks or hillbillies. Although the show is done for comedy purposes, it does capitalize on stereotypes within society. In the book Dean mentions, “Even critics who enjoy the show do so from a crouched defensive posture” which is regarding to another popularized hillbilly show, Honey Boo Boo, but showcases the feelings audiences may be feeling.…

For my independent reading this month, I chose to read The Outsiders written by S.E Hinton (which she wrote in high school). I would classify this book as a “coming of age” novel, but since that wasn’t an option on the genre list, it also classifies as a realistic fiction novel. I think it can be both of those genres because the protagonist of the book, Ponyboy, emotionally and mentally grows over the book and bonds with people who you wouldn’t expect. At the beginning of the book, Ponyboy is just the kid brother of the gang, but at the end, he has a background and experiences that changed his life forever. It also classifies as realistic fiction because all the events that happened in the book could happen in real life.…

Lee’s works have been proven to be innovative in the sense that it covers most, if not all of the issues that arise in the black community. This statement is evident especially when he created one of my favorite films, Crooklyn. This is a film that goes into the “ideal” life of African Americans in the seventies. The most important idea to notice in this film is feminism. Feminism is so broad and shown in narrower topics that relate to it in this dramatic work.…
