One Tree Hill Hero

A hero doesn't have to be real or fake what matters is what they signify to you. At this point in my life, I would consider the show “One Tree Hill” to be my “hero”. To begin with the show follows the life of two half brothers and their friends. It’s taught me about life and growing up but, what I like the most is how realistic and well developed the characters are. And how they’ve affected me and how I see things. One Tree Hill by Mark Schwahn is set in North Carolina and follows two half brothers and their friends competing for positions on the school's basketball team. Nathan Scott one of the main protagonists who at first is your typical jock who only cares about basketball and girls but then develops into a mature, responsible, loving …show more content…
Brooke was a cheerleader and the most “popular girl” who cared about nothing but boys and partying. But through the show she grew and it was impossible not to love her, she goes from this crazy party girl persona to a successful, brave, caring person. She knew she was better than people led her on to be and made a better name for herself during. “People are gonna label you. But it’s how you overcome the labels. That’s what matters.” What this means to me is people are going to put you down say you aren’t pretty, smart, or even enough. Labels don’t define you as a person unless you let them do so, if you give in you’ll start to believe them. Instead overcome those labels prove people wrong. Don’t let labels define you people are always going to try and put you or others down. But don’t let them one of the things Brooke has taught me is to overcome the labels. Because of this I try not to let the things people say to me get to me anymore, because after all what matters is what of ourselves. “ I am who I am no excuses.’ You are who you are whether you’re deemed as good, bad, etc and while there may be a reason to why people are the way they are past things in your life aren’t an excuse for the choices you make. We all make decisions for our own reasons that's one of the things that defines us. You are who you are no excuses you can either choose to rise …show more content…
Haley is smart and wise some of the advice I’ve learned from her is It’s okay to know what you want, at a young age and to stay true to yourself. “We spend so much time wanting, pursuing, wishing. But ambition is good chasing things with integrity is good.” We all spend so much time wanting, or wishing for people/things. Having hope or wanting things is good but don’t be afraid or ashamed for wanting something and, going after it be unapologetic. If you want something go after it don’t be afraid ambition is good. Having dreams and hope is good don’t let that go to waste put it to use. And never be ashamed or regret something because you at one point wanted it. “The rest of your life is being shaped right now. With the dreams you chase. The choices you make. And the person you decide to be. The rest of your life is a long time. And the rest of your life starts now.” What this means to me is don’t wait long to go after something chase your dreams, do what makes you happy. Don’t feel like you have to please others be who you want to be. You have one life, live it how you want to not how others want you to. In conclusion what Haley has shown me is it’s okay to know what you want at a young age, and to not be afraid to go after it. You live one life make the most of go after what you want but don’t it because at one point it was all

Who is a hero for you? Many people answer that from superheroes to a war hero because people have different views on heroes. However, heroes are for me people who think of others first before they think of themselves. The best example of heroes is Terry Fox who was a Canadian and marathoner. Even though Terry Fox had his right leg amputated at the knee because of cancer, he tried to run across Canada to raise money for people with cancer, so many Canadian admire him.…

Heros are extraordinary. Heros do not have to be people who save the world, but they can also do the simplest things and not see themselves as a hero. Heros can be portrayed as role models as well. One of my favorite heros and stories to hear about is the man named Louis Zamperini. How he became a hero is truly incredible.…

Free from all the extra attention and scrutiny from teachers, who did all they could to mold the freshman class into proper "Vincentians", I felt as though I could finally relax and have a regular high school career. It was a slow paced year where pressures such as ACT and SAT preparation, applying for colleges, and deciding your career path seemed so far away. As long as I remember, I have been on a never ending journey of discovering my talents and finding a career that would be most suitable for me to contribute to society. I was convinced that If just lived life the way I was supposed to and fulfilled my responsibilities, that it all would just come to me one day. Because of my assumption of how much time I had to figure out what I wanted to do with my life, I found myself putting these important thoughts on a hiatus.…

A hero is someone who is willing to drop everything to go fight for something that can lead to a life or death situation. My two heroes are Theodore Little Parish and Deerslayer. My father was and has been a huge inspiration in not just my life but several others for today’s generation. Deerslayer is not much of a hero today but in 1800 he was inspiration for hundreds of lives. He held all of the qualities of a Indian but looks of a French man and still fought with the British.…

At the time, I didn’t think that I was as smart or as hardworking as they were. As stated in the reading, “Beliefs have to do with what is true or not” (page 3). At that point in time, regardless of what others thought or wondering whether by beliefs were true or not, I believed that I wasn’t good enough. This in turn affected the self-labels that I’ve implemented for myself, which “play a role in shaping our self-concept” (page 9). By thinking negatively about myself, it affected some of the actions I did around my friends.…
