RIVAL GAMING - ARABIAN TALES SLOT REVIEW

Today I decided to give Rival Gaming's newest video slot, Arabian Tales a try. I enjoyed playing this enchanting new slot game as well as its "One Thousand and One Nights" theme.

"One Thousand and One Nights" is the story of King Shahryar who killed his wife after learning she had been unfaithful and then vowed to marry marry a different woman each night before killing her the next morning to prevent being betrayed ever again. He did this for many years until he married Scheherazade, who devised a plan for her survival which consisted of her telling Shahryar a different story every night but stopping the story in the middle so that she may live to finish it the next night and begin a new story. She went on with this plan for 1,001 nights, until Shahryar had a change of heart. She told tories such as "Aladdin's Lamp" and "The Voyages of Sinbad the Sailor" to name a few.

I think Rival Gaming's Arabian Tales captures the essence of "One Thousand and One Nights" and all the stories within it beautifully. In addition to your typical slot symbols 9 through A, Arabian Tales features images of Shahryar and Scheherazade as well as magical flying carpets and the like. Special symbols consist of Aladdin - which is the symbol that triggers the Free Spins Bonus, Aladdin's Lamp - this symbol is the Expanding Wild, Ali Baba - which appropriately, is the Jackpot Icon and a Bengal Tiger serves as the Scatter.

3, 4 and 5 of the Aladdin Icons will award you 12, 25 and 50 Free Spins with a 3x multiplier respectively. I was lucky enough to land 4 of these symbols the first time wich gave me 25 Free Spins that happened to re-trigger themselves on the very first one! What more could I have possibly wished for? I knew of One Thousand and One Nights but I didn’t think about the meaning, significance, and extent of the bravery of Scheherazade but rather focused on the wonderful stories she told. “I was amazed to realize that for many Westerners, Scheherazade was considered a lovely but simple-minded entertainer, someone who narrates innocuous tales and dresses fabulously. In our part of the world, Scheherazade is perceived as a courageous heroine and is one of our rare female mythical figures. Scheherazade is a strategist and a powerful thinker, who uses her psychological knowledge of human beings to get them to walk faster and leap higher… she makes us bolder and more sure of ourselves and of our capacity to transform the world and its people”(Mernissi 15).…

A blank can be defined in various ways. It can be defined as a situation, belief, or idea that reduces people to nothing more than inferior objects. I have been a blank space only a few times in my life. All of these experiences resulted in personal growth and maturity .Similar to the perceptions of condescending individuals who deemed minorities of African descent as inferior in Heart of Darkness and The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. At Camp A, I was reduced from an individual to a caricature of an African American with amoral values because of faulty reasoning and stereotypes.…

Ever since the beginning of time, women have been looked at as possessions, items of pleasure, and lesser than men. These views are often skewed by a corrupt society that is driven by masculinity and power. The movie “Arabian Nights” and the stories in “The Thousand and One Nights,” show a unique perspective of the roles of women in a Muslim society. Some of the stories betray women as disobedient wifes, beautiful slaves who are always eager to please men, and as prisoners isolated from the real world. The main character, Scheherazade, decided to challenge these standards and fight for freedom, as well as love.…

There are many different portrayals of how society or cultures have viewed female roles to be weak. But unlike most stories the Thousand and One Nights has portrayed female roles to be brave and powerful. Characters such as Shahrazad, the demon’s wife, King Shahryar’s first wife, and king Shahzaman’s first wife play a fearless role. The two reading works that have stood out was the Homer’s Odyssey and The Thousand and One Nights. These two works show the different ways of how female and/or male roles have been portrayed before the Common Era.…

The themes of power and crime are manifested in the novel Arabian nights. It illustrates oppressions that people encounter when looking for justice. The influential individuals in authority are highly paid yet they have little responsible. Corruption is the vice that pushes political leaders to amass power and wealth. Unfair Balance of Power One Thousand and One Nights is a collection of stories from India, Persia, and Arabia and have been translated by various authors over hundreds of years. Even though it is a collection of different stories, they are all centered on the frame story of King Shahryar and his wife, Scheherazade, who narrates different stories for a thousand and one night in hopes that the King would stop killing innocent young women as punishment for his first wife’s adulterous act. The stories that she recounts to King Shahryar convey the great sense of adventure, truth, fantastic imagination, magical creatures, justice and faith that symbolizes the Middle Eastern countries that contributed to the stories. Exploring the way for which the stories of the Arabian Nights affect the human being’s thoughts has become progressively more popular among writers. To question the book and investigate the direction in which its formulaic stories have power over the human being’s imagination have become increasingly widespread among authors. It seems to be inevitable to analyze why the Arabian Nights has become vital; that is the purpose of this work. There exist several ways of investigating the Nights in contemporary fiction. One of them is to examine a particular aspect of the collection and how it is used intertextually in modern and postmodern fiction.…

The stories “Anowa”, by Ama Ata Aidoo, and “One Thousand and One Nights” do not have many things in common, but one important feature that both stories share is one of the main characters challenging the gender roles of their society and time period. The character of Anowa in “Anowa” is an independent woman whose actions draw much unwanted attention to herself and her family by her community. While the character of Shahrazad in “One Thousand and One Nights” is a vastly educated woman that against the will of her father, puts herself in danger to try and protect other women. Although there are different gender roles during the times of Anowa and Shahrazad, both women show how different they are from the other women around them by defying their…
