At the beginning of the movie Johnny works as an apprentice in a silversmith's shop. One day he tells his Master’s granddaughter that he comes from a very rich family. Johnny is trying to finish the cup before Monday comes so they can get commission. One Son of Liberty is trying to convince Johnny to get time off work so then he can help them monitor the tea ships. After a bad burn his fingers grow together and he can’t move them. His Master deems him useless and kicks him out. Most of the jobs that he tries to get find out that he is useless because of his fingers being stuck together. Mr. Lyte then asks Johnny to come over to his house after dinner. Mr. Lyte declares that Johnny broke a window and stole the cup. He is then imprisoned. Mr.

Johnny is proven innocent and let go. Rab let’s him ride Goblin his uncle’s horse so then Johnny gets a job as the horse boy. One of his jobs is to ride on Goblin and tell secret messages to all of the members of the committee. Johnny is told to blow a whistle if he hears a certain phrase. Once he does he blows the whistle and the Boston Tea Party happens. After they finish dumping the tea into the harbor they then walk in front of the admiral singing a song. General Gage wants to talk to Dr. Warren about the Committee. The General states that he has had strict orders to not let any tea off the ships. Mr. Lyte has decided to go back to England so Johnny comes over to hear the news. In actuality, Mr. Locke sent for Johnny so he could ask if he wanted to go back to England with him but Johnny refuses. Rab gathers a bunch of people and says that they need to watch the Redcoats. If the Redcoats make a move Rab is going with the Minutemen to help them out. Johnny tricks a redcoat into telling him information.
