Helping the roommates on earning something crucial in their life is always precious and fun. In the case of making a plan for my roommate to lose weight can be a tough work, but the positive reinforcement attached with the plan, which is getting chance on the football team is definitely worth it. Nevertheless, I will make one-month behavior modification program based on the principles of operant conditioning that will get my roommate started toward his goal, so that he can get chance on the football team by the end of the month.

The fit quest project has benefited my thoughts about staying healthy in many different ways. The first way that it has benefited me is that I know realize the importance of eating and exercising. I now understand that in order to maintain a healthy body you must keep a schedule and you must commit to your eating and workout plans. If you fail to accomplish these tasks, you will most likely fail when trying to lose or gain weight. Also, I have learned that there are different ways to lose or gain weight, but you always want to choose the healthiest choices or else you may end up with consequences in the future.…

The therapist is deeply involved him or herself — they are not "acting"—and they can draw on their own experiences (self-disclosure) to facilitate the relationship. My partner’s revised goal for the individual health promotion plan project was to eat at least two Paleo-based meals everyday for a month. One of the interventions used to approach this goal was stimulus control. When following such a rigid diet, there will be a lot of environmental triggers present. The first environmental trigger that was observed was her living situation. Having roommates that are not following a Paleo-based diet meant that there was a substantial amount of food that conflicted with my partner’s diet present at all times.…

Dialectical Behavior Therapy, or DBT, was developed in 1993 by Marsha M. Linehan as a treatment for clients meeting the criteria for borderline personality disorder who are chronically suicidal (Linehan and Chen, 2004). Linehan developed this therapy out of the sentiment that there was an influx in borderline personality disorder diagnoses, and no successful treatment options specific to this diagnosis (Linehan, 1993). Linehan was influenced by behavior therapy and by Eastern mindfulness. The theory assumes that the DBT clinician is at a certain level of acceptance towards their client’s current distress (Linehan and Chen, 2004).…
