A hero is an individual who is admired for his/her qualities and accomplishments. Someone who is a hero is a selfless leader, who has a positive impact on society. Heroes leave a legacy and are respected by others. The courageous achievements of One Direction are heroic in many ways.

One Direction have dedicated their life to music and are still admired today. One Direction is a English-Pop boy band based in London, United Kingdom in 2010. There are four boys in One Direction; Niall Horan, Liam Payne, Harry Styles, and Louis Tomlinson. There used to be five boys in the band except Zayn Malik left the band recently. In 2013 One Direction raised over 2 million dollars for Red Nose Day and many other fundraisers. Red Nose Day is a part of a company called Comic Relief and is on May 21st every year. It is a fundraiser to help poverty over the world. Fans of the band were the main reason why One Direction was able to reach that amount of money they did. One Direction created a cover of the single “One Way or Another (Teenage Kicks)” and was on top of the charts in 63 countries in the first week it came out. The single raised over $850,000 for Red Nose Day. To help Red Nose Day the band took a trip to see the sick children in Africa. The kids in Africa were suffering from diseases that could have been prevented by buying a vaccine that was only $4. They filmed their trip to Africa which resulted in $2 million donated. One Direction raised money buy selling the clothes they wore to events. To also get donations the band inspired fans to have bake sales, dyeing their hair red, and doing something funny for money. Raising money for Red Nose Day impacted the world
