Today I arrived around ten because I had a doctor's appointment. It was really nice coming in later since last Tuesday I had to start at eight and woke up extremely early. Judy started me off with the usual key sorting for the volunteers and then some paperwork organizing that felt endless. I had a sad morning because i watched a kitten die literally right in front of me. An old couple came up to the counter with their kitten wrapped in a blanket and were explaining to Katcia the kittens problem. We were all looking at it and the kitten was acting very lethargic with its eyes slightly opened. Two minutes later the kitten stopped moving and we were all in silence. The lady started crying and they ended up taking away the kitten. I felt so bad …show more content…
Everyone is always rushing around getting everything organized. Frontline people are always stealing each others chairs and they have the funniest conversations. Today the ladies were all talking about surgeons and the way their wives live. Craig also did the whip and nana It was so bad i couldn’t stop laughing. I met a new co-worker today and his name was Craig he was very energetic and introduced himself to me.
Proud: In the afternoon Judy assigned me to do some microchip filing. She had taught me how to use the style of database called chameleon before but it was hard remembering all the codes. She just gave me a stack and let. I was stuck and didn’t want to ask her for help so i kept clicking buttons. Finally i had figured it out and remembered how to do it. I was proud of myself for not asking for help and for not giving up. I also am proud that i paid attention when she showed me how to do coding. This taught me about myself and that i don’t give up so easily. Improve: Today i also made packets for new cat owners. I found a way to make them really fasts by laying each thing it included separately in a line and then i would grab one of each. I also learned how to get the printer to staple stuff which made everything easier and improved my

This week at clinical I had a Gyn patient for two days and a new mom and baby on the second clinical day. My patient that had on Tuesday with the hysterectomy was a very quiet and kind lady who was recovering very well from her surgery. During and after her cares we were able to connect through learning about her family she grew up with, her family she had grown of her own and about her children and other interests of hers. It made me feel good being able to own the moment through connecting with my patient that also made collaborating and working as a team much easier throughout the day to complete the needed tasks. Another aspect of making the shift go very smoothly was working with Brenda, I enjoyed collaborating with her as she is fast-paced…

It was a scorching summer afternoon around three o’ clock PM at J.D Redd Park. I was anxiously waiting in third base for the batter to approach the plate and smack the yarn covered ball just enough for me to make it to the home plate. As the sun hits my face I see the pitcher retract his right arm getting ready to throw it. As I see the ball leave the pitcher’s hand, I breathed in the humid air, making preparations to sprint as fast as I could and make it to the home plate. Before I could even gather my thoughts the ball departed from the pitcher’s hand and into the bat of one of the members of my team.…

The first time the class met, we were in the smallest dance room. A long wooden bar ran across the back wall, parallel to a mirror covered wall. On the shelves around the room were what seemed like hundreds of trophies that the local high school dance team had won over the years. The first thing I remembered thinking was “Wow, I’m going to have trophies just like this one day!” and little did I know that my reward from baton twirling would be much greater than any trophy or medal.…

Today, everything went great! I am so excited about the things I've gotten to do today! First thing this morning, I got to do a blood draw, then I went in to the insurance and billing office to begin making calls to insurance companies to check patients benefits for global maternity. Afterwards, I followed an interpreter, nurse practitioner, and an LPN to exam rooms to listen in on communication skills and cultural needs between each patient and employees. The communication from nurse practitioner, to LPN, to patient was very smooth, helpful, and served the patient's needs to the fullest.…

Towards the end of the day, I got to observe the step-by-step process of how they prepare their office’s bank deposit, then I went to help shut down exam rooms. Besides having Hispanic day on Wednesdays where the interpreter is in the office, a breast feeding class is offered by the practice, which I think is a wonderful benefit to mothers wishing to feel their babies in a natural way! Anyhow, I don’t have much more to share about my day today because of the office being a little more on the slow side, but tomorrow and Wednesday should be more interesting. FEBRUARY 14, 2017 Today, in the insurance/billing office, I got to listen in a couple calls to patients.…
