Oncology Nurse
As a nurse in Oncology, one can specialize in several fields such as gynecological oncology, radiation oncology, medical research oncology, pediatric oncology, hematology as well as surgical oncology (Watson, Takahashi, & Futreal 2014). I have seen her fight for over 18 years and she has inspired me in so many ways. I have always wanted to be a nurse, but she gave me more direction. I have seen her pain, struggles, the fear she will never show. I have wrapped her feet and hands that would split and bleed from the effects of the medication. I have seen a brave and strong woman stand up against something I dont think I could stand against. In her honor, this is the field of nursing that I want to be affiliated with. In addition, I have an abundance of empathy and sympathy to give and, I as well need the strength that I will find in seeing my patients live and love life as they fight this battle. The field of Oncology is demanding on an emotional and physical level. It is also one that requires experience and pays you back with the most rewarding career you could imagine. I can’t
