Something else I seen that was unique of the film On the Waterfront is the lighting. Really the lighting that is used in this film is very dark, nerve reeking, and somewhat intense. Some scenes that portray this is when Terry is calling Joey, the scene is at night and in the dark, the long streetlamps cast a mysterious dark shadow that spread across Terry’s face. The use of dark and night show that something sinister and evil is going to happen. Another example of the filmmaker’s use of dark lighting to set the mood and atmosphere is when Terry goes to find his brother. At that point Edie decides she is going to go and follow him and she does finally find Terry in a dark alleyway. But then the untold happens when she is about to finally
