Have you ever seen someone at school that you want to be like? You want to be there friend and be just like them. Well, in the “On the Bridge” by Todd Strasser that's how Seth sees Adam. Adam is a cool, tough, and a slick kind of dude. and Seth is kinda a nerd in a sense. In “On the Bridge” the setting and conflict are very important, it make the story in interesting and make you want to read it.

The Setting is very important in this story. The setting in the story “ On The Bridge” is on a bridge. If the story took place anywhere else it would not make sense at all. In the text Adam and Seth did not take the bus home from school and they decide to walk and get Cigarettes out of the cigarettes machine ( Strasser Page 1). Adam and Seth had decided to go to the bridge, and smoke there new cigarettes. In the text while they were going to the bridge Adam told Seth a story about the situation he was in the other day. He said that he got in a fight and is pretty sure he broke the dudes nose. Seth thought that Adam is was really cool and he could see all the blood and roughness on Adams jean jacket, and he notices that his jean jacket looked new, it was all in tact. The jacket didn’t have any blood stains, or holes. He tried to was it to make it look worn but it did not really work. (Strasser Page 1) . Seth see Adam as a role model almost. If they were not on the bridge Seth would have never gotten hurt, and noticed that Adam wasn't all he ended up being. The conflict in the story was very suspenseful. Seth being pushed against the windshield, The readers would have thought that Adam would had stepped in and helped out and gotten them both out safe. Breaking a couple noses. This story makes you think who your friends really are. Are they every who they say. Just always be yourself, dont change to fit in with someone if they want to be your friend they will accept you as you
