On the Battlefield, in an Emergency Room, or in the halls of a high school; leadership is present everywhere. In order to be a strong leader one has to be welcoming and remain humble. My perspective of what leadership is based on the lessons I learned from being a follower.
If I was never a follower I would have never fully understand the people I lead, Aristotle once famously said “He who has never learned to obey cannot be a good commander.” The prerequisite in order to become a leader is to first learn how to follow. A mission statement that I live by is to never ask for a task to be done if you are unwilling to complete the task yourself.
