Like mentioned before about not having to worry for my life because of my beliefs, in the podcast “On Free Speech” Stephan Law goes over how religion in government is a big issue and especially for people. Rae Langton made a great point in her speech regarding the media and how the media can be very distrusting. She used an example to support her statement on how misleading the media can be. “when the media tells lies or promotes falsehoods about certain groups.” but then again I think most adults knows the media can be very manipulative. Even at points that it can slander an individual's identity. Langton refers to Media Ethics, which has to do with giving false facts, and giving no specifics. In places where the Freedom of speech is not a right, people are given news and false facts because of the government censoring everything that is given out to its people. For example, North Korea having a dictatorship is a perfect image of what people without the freedom of speech and especially any types of freedoms, live a controlled life. Rae Langton briefly explains the use of speech of others silence the speech of the more vulnerable / average citizen. “Authority speech that tries to silence the speech of other people in this case, writers, and many people who should not be silenced.” Followed by all this Langton made another good point that I personally agree with about the media. The media needs to improve how it perceives itself, because some people are very dependent on the news and false facts is not beneficial. “The Media has a role to play in how we view other groups,and this includes… the way we talk about them, label
