Aside from being of African American and Asian in race, which enables him to feel as though he belongs to multiple races and the cultures they provide. He is also a current college student and former Marine, which has added to his present identity. While he sticks close to the term African American, he believes that by listening and learning from one’s surroundings they can change one’s lifestyle and impact their identity. Omari is an extremely passionate individual and this leads him to try and do more than he is capable of at times. However, while he is passionate, this also enables him to overthink situations, which contributes to his insomnia. This has had an impact on his emotional health and has led to depression in the past, which included several suicide attempts. While he is better emotionally now, it is important for him to remember what has allowed him to heal and become better from past
