In 2013 the films, ‘Olympus Has Fallen’ and ‘White House Down’ were released, these films share the same major themes, “Heroism” and “Terrorism”. Antoine Fuqua and Ronald Emmerich the directors of the two film have used the themes in a similar way, both exploring the two themes “Heroism” and “Terrorism” through the two main characters, John Cale and Mike Banning through costume, camera angles, music and acting.

In the film, ‘White house Down’ the White House is taken down by US Rednecks being led by Martin Walkers, who's is motivated by the death of his son who died from a “black ops mission”. Whilst in the film ‘Olympus Has Fallen’, is taken down by North Koreans with the motivate to remove the US troops from the Korean Peninsula to make the civil war to end between the North and South. Both directors use two completely different costumes to one another, as in ‘White House Down’ the Redneck terrorist as dressed in dirty old, run down clothes in order to represent their character. Whilst director, Antoine Fuqua uses a more formal costume design for his terrorists, to symbolise their wealth and high up attack.
Conclusion
“Which film represent the two themes, “Terrorism” and “Heroism” best?” There were many similarities and differences between the two films ‘White House Down’ and ‘Olympus Had Fallen’ both exploring the theme “Heroism” and “Terrorism”. However, the director Ronald Emmerich had portrayed the two film the best through the film techniques the actors. I believe the film ‘White House Down’ kept me the most interested as the music, camera angles and actors were well
