What is bullying? A. Frisén et al. The goal of paper is to analyze the effectiveness of intensive anti-bullying prevention programs in school systems. The first bullying prevention program was the Olweus Bullying Prevention Program. The Olweus Bullying Prevention Program was named after Dr. Dan Olweus a research professor of psychology from Norway who was considered to be the pioneer in bullying prevention research. In Norway in 1983 three adolescent boys committed suicide and was speculated to be victims of severe bullying this incident triggered one the first recognize bullying prevention programs His intervention program included 2500 students from 42 schools followed over a period of two years the overall prevention program yield a 50% reduction reported in school bullying among school kids. The 50% reduction in school bullying was an impressive number among the nation causing many different countries to immediately implement similar prevention
