Between food and culture, there are many relationships between food and culture (Communities). These relationships have many effects on the behavior of people. Convenience, Cost, quality, healthiness, age, and technology form a symbiotic relationship between food and culture (Communities). In today’s society, the generations who are the parents look for the easiest item of food they can make (Communities). Today’s generation needs to understand that the quick meals are not always good for us to digest into our bodies (Communities). The way to go involves a home cooked meal and the newer generation needs to understand that, instead of eating the cheap processed foods (Communities). People waste so much valuable lifetime and eat quick and easy processed foods, and never consider making one of the best meals that can be made (Communities). The generation has grown up in a time that they think the fastest way makes it the best way, because they feel as if they do not have enough time to make anything (Communities). Polls have shown that the generation before this generation would make homemade food, and actually care about what they put into their mouths (Communities). As Rathbone stated that connections start with family and when the child is young. Doctor Pazzaglia, assistant professor at the West Chester University in Philadelphia, also believes that children are taught at a young age about food and food preferences (Pazzaua). Pazzaglia stated,
“The classroom provides a perfect opportunity to introduce the issue of diversity in a safe, nonjudgmental environment. It allows for the connection of content to personal understanding and provides a forum for creative, self-expression. This can be accomplished through an active, student-centered approach that develops students’ abilities to embrace diversity and understand the perspectives of people who are different from them in a fun and meaningful way” (Pazzaua).
