Service Paper
First of all the full service dining restaurant I choose to dine at was Olive Garden in Holly Springs with my family. When we ate dinner there it was a Friday night around seven pm it was pretty busy when we walked in and there were people sitting inside and outside waiting for their names to be called. The service started out great; there were three hostesses standing behind the host counter and they were all wearing black shirts and pants as their uniforms. They all had smiles on their faces and waited patiently to greet who ever walked through the doors. Each host made eye contact and welcomed us as we walked up by saying “welcome to Olive Garden how are you all this evening?” Then the host proceeded to ask “how many people

As we got out of the car we felt safe to walk to the restaurant. When we get up to the restaurant there were three benches, one was on the sidewalk with bushes behind it and the other two were on each side of the front door. When you walk through the door there was a foyer area with a two more benches. Then they 'll be more benches as soon as people walk into the restaurant. Once you are in the building host desk is right up front and behind the desk they showed off their wine. To the right of the host desk is the bar. The bar area has bar stools to sit on and tall tables with chairs. To the left of the host desk is the dining area. The dining area is very large and it has tables, booths, and tables with booth seats on one side and chairs on the other side. In the middle of the dining area, it has a huge fireplace. Which sets the romantic mood. On the walls there are pictures, candles, and ivory to set the Italian theme. The lighting was dim, but it was still bright enough to see whoever you are with and your food. Each section of the dining room had six tables and there is one waitress or waiter that serves those tables. The waitress and waiter can have help serving if he or she needs it. For example the night my family and I went our waitress had help when she brought out our food. Also, there are drink stations close by to each section; which had water and tea pitchers. As for the uniforms all the waiters and waitresses wore all black. They had black pants, shirts, belt, and ties just like the hostess did. By all the waitresses and waiters wearing the same thing it made the restaurant look very

I chose to write my paper on S. Truett Cathy, because as you will see, he is one of the great pioneers of the hospitality, and foodservice, industry. From a very young age, Samuel Truett Cathy (“Truett”) realized that providing excellent customer service was the heart and soul of any good business model. He set out to accomplish his goals, and with some ups and downs along the way, built the second-largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain in the United States. S. Truett Cathy is an gifted businessman, author, Presidential Volunteer Service Award winner, and philanthropist; he also embodies the very meaning of exceeding guest expectations. These days, most people choose to go out to eat at a restaurant instead of cooking a meal at home. It is the same routine everywhere – a server greets you, takes your order and serves the food to you and when you are all done eating, you tip your server based on the service they provided. But have you ever wondered do these servers actually enjoy their job? It is pretty much required for them to pretend like it is the best job in the world even if they think otherwise. Their positive attitudes is one of the ways they make money.…

This room opened in the piazza and had roses all over the window, and such pretty old-fashion chintz hangings as she described. The wife describes this room her husband, John insists on her staying in is big and airy, the whole floor nearly, the windows that look like ways, and air and sunshine galore. She also describes the room as a being a nursery at first and then a playroom and gymnasium. The windows are barred for little children, and there are rings and things in the walls. She then describes the paint and the wallpaper and how she hate it saying the color is repellent, almost revolting; a smoldering unclean yellow, strangely faded by the slow-turning…

One customer well taken care of could be more valuable than $10,000 worth of advertising (Rohn). Towards the Abolishment of Tipping How much consideration goes into leaving a tip at a restaurant? Do customers automatically tip the socially accepted 18-20%, or do they reflect on the service they received during the meal and then make a reasonable decision? Some even forego the tip all together based on poor service or personal reasons. These were never questions that I considered, until two months ago. The meal had come and gone; my fiancé and I were finishing up our conversation when the server delivered the check to the table.…
