I was not shocked when I learned that many people immediately believed that Dr. Kukkonen’s participants to be in the younger age group due to many reasons. I was not shocked because a lot of people believed that older adults lose interest in sex and that older adults should not engage in sexual activity. Most people believed that older adults are way too old to have or handle sex. I also believed that older adults should not being having sex because they are too old and may increase the risk of pain and injury. I thought that most older adults would not care about sex anymore because it is not important to them. However, I learned that sexuality is still very important to older adults and many of them are still engaging in sexual activities
