Old European Tradition: Pope Gregory All Hallows Eve

Decent Essays
Halloween is an old European tradition called Samhain. A guy named Pope Gregory invented All Hallows Eve.
The ancient European celebrate this tradition by lighting bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts.

On Halloween children (and sometimes parents) wear costumes and go door to door saying “trick or treat”.
Sometimes the owner of the house gives out candy to the children.

When the children get home their parents check their candy to make sure no candy wrappers are open. Then the children eat their candy until their teeth fall out.

For Halloween there isn't really a specific kind of food it is just a bunch of candy. Like m&m’s, skittles, , and hershey chocolate.

Because of the contemporary nature of Halloween, without Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, Sylvia Plath’s “Lady Lazarus”, and George A. Romero’s Night Of The Living Dead, the holiday as we…
