Old Chicago Swot Analysis

While doing research on our competitors, we realized the importance of truly understanding what our own shortcomings are. Upon completing a SWOT analysis for our Old Chicago location, we determined several different strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The clear strength of Old Chicago is the location. Right in the heart of Capital Hill, it is within walking distance of major concert and sporting venues. It is on several major bus lines, and is located on Colfax Avenue, a major thoroughfare for walking pedestrians. Old Chicago boast strong brand recognition, and many will know the brand despite possibly never having been to an Old Chicago previously. Along with a strong brand we have an excellent rewards program that entices customers to return by giving them cash back on their purchases. Currently for every $75 dollars spent, each rewards member receives $ to spend at any Old Chicago location. Our beer and food menus are very extensive, and …show more content…
While the location is ideal, there are some unsavory elements. Some areas of Colfax have a bit of a reputation for selling and using drugs. While the Denver police have done a wonderful job cleaning up much of Colfax, the reputation is still worth noting because it is well-earned. Also, the nightlife can be somewhat intense on Colfax Avenue. While a lively bar scene could be considered a plus, we must work with other bars to improve to the standard of alcohol service, and work with the police to help clean up our streets. Other concerns are industry based. There is a stigma surrounding chain restaurants, that needs to be addressed through customer education. Buying a Colorado beer through a chain such as Old Chicago will still help the local economy. The cost of living is increasing in Denver, and while there is hope that the citizens of Capital Hill have increased discretionary income, we do not know how these living increases will affect our
