I have attended a few events hosted by Collegiate 100 and appreciate them for holding these events that better young black men and women. The most rewarding event I would say was the COX event last semester, that provided information different aspects in the work force. Academically, the staff and resources at GCU have been outstanding so far. From learning how to navigate loud cloud all the way to utilizing the SMART goals process for accomplishing tasks. Course Reflection The eight weeks over which English 111 lasted were weeks of learning and enlightenment. The class was beneficial and taught many points of advanced English and explained each concept and format thoroughly. English 111 has helped better myself and other students for upcoming college classes because it takes clear and in-depth looks at the formats and sciences behind English and paper writing. Everyone hates English class is what I thought before taking English 102. Through taking this ESL course I have learned a great amount about ELLs and how to effectively teach them. I have learned countless techniques that have made me more confident in my ability to teach not only ELLs but all students. When educating ELLs it is important to remember their background and to use it to make lessons that will more effectively meet their specific needs. Overall, I have gained valuable knowledge about the education of ELLs that I can use in my specific content area.
