1. In your opinion, what role does Homecoming play within the university?
In my personal opinion Homecoming is one of the most iconic and treasurable events to take place at Oklahoma State University. The level of involvement within the university is serial. It is a time that people from all walks of life join in unison to celebrate America’s Greatest Homecoming. This participation comes in all different manors, such as competing against other organizations or Greek houses in various events, decorating campus festively, or rooting for the Cowboys on game day. Homecoming brings out the enthusiasm that is seemingly absent the remainder of the year.

What one Homecoming activity would you improve or change and why?
Improvement is something that everything and everyone can undergo, as nothing is perfect. However there is an old saying “if it isn’t broke then don’t fix it’. I feel that this statement is very relatable to homecoming at Oklahoma State University. Every year it seems that we provide an incredible experience for thousands of people through a multitude of events. Therefore, there is nothing in specific I would change about Homecoming. Instead, I would advise that we continue with the general process we have in place now and try to incorporate more spirit throughout the campus and community for all of the activities related to homecoming. It is evident that certain activities recruit a larger crowd than others. I would like to see that each activity be successful and have the most involvement

From there I made it a personal goal that I kept that same mindset no matter what school I went to. My first two high schools, Pebblebrook High School and Lithia Springs High School, were highly spirited and never let a loss get them down. When I came to South Atlanta and participated in the homecoming spirit week along with the pep rallies for it, my heart nudged to the ground a bit; it was like being the odd ball out. No one had spirit unless it was homecoming and even then only about 30% participated.…

On a sweltering summer day in the City of Atlanta or the “ATL” as it is affectionately known today, I visited my best friend while he visited his father for the summer. That day I remember vividly because as soon as we stepped outside of the airport to take the “MARTA” train, I began to sweat profusely. Anyone that has been to Atlanta during the summer knows it is incredibly humid there. A week earlier I had seen my friend, and we planned out what we were going to do that week I visited. I knew I wanted to visit Spellman College, Morehouse College, Clark Atlanta University, and Morris Brown College, but before I could visit the Atlanta University Center or the “AUC” as it is called to the locals, I felt compelled to visit the grave site of one of the most influential human being to walk this earth.…
