Oklahoma Childhood Experience

This summer I went to Sparks, Oklahoma and was an Intern for the Oklahoma Children’s Ministries (OCM). This was an amazing experience for me it changed my life in so many ways it is impossible to count. I am going to tell you all about it, and the challenges I faced along the way. On June 28, 2015 I moved literally moved to Sparks, Oklahoma for the remainder of June and all through July, and to eventually return home on August 1st. I was very nervous as I made my way to Sparks only about a forty-five minute trip from my house in south Oklahoma City. I knew it would be a lot of work, and long hours and early mornings would be a normal thing. I was nervous but there was also a side of me that was so excited he couldn’t even stand himself. As we pulled into the campgrounds I didn’t know what to expect I had been here many times before it was the summer kids camp/ youth camp I had grown up at all of my life but this felt different, pulling in as an “intern” there was almost a different smell in the air. …show more content…
We made it through the first week and it was an amazing week I learned and gained so much from watching people, and I got so much life experience that the average 14 year old kid won’t ever be able to have. The great thing about it is I don’t see myself as and average kid I have higher standards, my parents have always pushed me to be more than “average” which in turn I began to push myself also, because I want to make my parents proud but most of all my God
