The Incident
On June 13, 1994, NFL Hall-Of-Famer O. J. Simpson and his ex-wife, Nicole Brown, attended the recital of their daughter, Sydney. After the recital, Mr. Simpson wanted Nicole and the rest of the family to celebrate together. However, Ms. Brown rejected the idea. Later that evening, Ms. Brown went to dinner at a restaurant and accidentally left her sunglasses on the table. One of the waiters, Ron Goldman, volunteered to return the sunglasses. A passerby found the murdered body of Nicole Brown sprawled on her walkway and the murdered body of Ron Goldman in shrubbery nearby. While Goldman was stabbed 33 times, Brown’s head was nearly decapitated and her body was unrecognizable. While investigating the scene, the policeman found bloody footprints, a glove and several other incriminating items. Being the ex-husband, O. J. Simpson was immediately a person of interest. Therefore, the police make it known that they wanted to speak to him concerning the homicides. Instead of cooperating with the police investigation, Mr. Simpson fled the area in a broco driven by his best friend, Al Cowlings. The resulting chase was broadcast nationwide. When Mr. Simpson’s bronco was stopped by the police, Brown’s and Goldman’s blood was found in the vehicle. Due to this evidence, Mr. Simpson was put on trial.
