Bangladesh is a country of endless possibility. Especially in agriculture possibilities are so much luminous. The feasibility of success in oil palm cultivation can unveil a new era for the life style of the people of the country. Cultivation of oil palm will play a significant role to confirm food security, particularly to recover the crisis of edible oil in Bangladesh. By cultivating Oil palm we can easily save importing cost for edible oil as well as we can export a noteworthy figure. The soil and climate of Bangladesh is very favorable for the cultivation of oil palm and palm oil production is also more beneficial than other oil production. Oil Palm is the beaconing of new hope before the people of Bangladesh.

It is a vegetable oil used for edible and non‐edible purposes. In some countries it is an established part of the national diet because of its traditional use as cooking oil. In other countries it is a strong competitor with crop based vegetable oils as a cooking aid and processed food ingredient.
Use of oil palm in several industries
Palm oil has a variety of applications as a food product and as an ingredient in no edible products. Palm oil is used as raw material for various industries e.g. Soap, milk powder, chocolate, detergent, fatty acids, candle, and fatty acid alcohol etc. Use of palm oil is increasing in the manufacturing of biscuits, cake, and ice-cream as well as in different types of foods day-by-day. Palm leaves and bunches can be used for making chipboard and middle density fiber board. Now-a-days palm oil is being used for Skincare and Cosmetic Products.

Due to climate change disasters are coming to the fate of Bangladesh. Oil palm trees can play the most important role in balancing the protection of the environment. Palm trees prevent the wind speed, protect from natural calamities, reduce mobility of the storm as well as protect soil erosion. Palm trees are long lived and much strong and able to protect human beings and their properties from being destroyed.
Leftovers of palm fruits may be used as fertilizer to the palm oil garden. It can reduce the use of chemical and pesticide. In its cultivation it takes less fertilizer and insecticide usage is also less because of its disease resistance power. Leave of palm oil trees may be used as fertilizer. It is said that one ton of dry leaves of palm tree can give back 7.5 kg of nitrogen, 1.06 kg phosphorus, 9.81 kg potassium and 2.79 kg magnesium. It takes carbon die oxide and release oxygen 10 times more than another trees.
