The Michigan model states that there are leaders who are employee-centered who build work groups with high goals, and there are leaders who are job-centered and aim to observe, explain, and demonstrate their interest in strong performance. The Ohio Model also notes that there are two different forms of leaders. Those with initiating-structure behavior who clearly state what their followers should do, so that they know their exact role, and consideration behavior leaders who take into account what their followers or subordinates feel and their ideas. In this sense, I would have to say that I am an employee-centered leader. Working on considering other’s emotions is definitely something that I need to put into action. I often forget that it may be harder for someone to adjust to new settings, because it comes so naturally to me. A company, country, or any group can not excel as a whole if members are left behind. As a leader, it is important to make sure your entire team is progressing. The first, Fiedler’s, is about a task and relationship-orientated style. It also includes three dimensions of control; leader-member, task structure, and position power. This model states that there must be a high level of trust with the leader, clarifying the exact task is vital, and asserting power are all needed to define a leader. The other model, Houses’s path-goal, states that leaders should clarify goals, and acknowledge different employee characteristics and environmental factors that affect leadership behavior. Being supportive, directive, participative, and achievement-orientated are necessary to remain the leader among subordinates. Of these two, the House’s plan is more so my style of leadership. I like to build my team up by making them aware of what I need but also letting them know that I’m not just an observant, I’m willing to help
