Oh How the Times Have Changed
Have you ever seen society turn something that could potentially be good into something negative or bad? Well in these two writings we can see two big examples from today’s world doing just that. How is it possible that “bad things” slowly turn or seem normal? As we look through these pieces keep an open mind of how often this occurs in your life.
In the article by Sherry Turkley "Can You Her Me Now?” Sherry writes about the world today. She talks about all the technology that there is in the world and how often we use it. Sherry uses examples of normal situations to show us that addiction is common in phoning, texting, and face booking. Turkley shows us readers that many feel an attachment and "need" of devices. In this reading group there was a mixture of members who read and liked the book to members who did not like the book or had not read it. The writer expecting a good and hearty discussion but was sadly disappointed in the evening when she sat in a group criticizing the work of the book. The writer shares her opinion on today's negativity and critique showing readers the normality of it in today’s society.
